09-15-2023  Daniel Boone Chapter  FCF Fall Trace at Camp Millhouser.

Weather was perfect. Cloudy most of the time with a light shower a few times.  Temps were mid 70 during the day and at night in the 50's.  The showers were mainly at night so most of the days were great.  One 30 minute thunderstorm with a slight shower was extra fun and camp cleanup to keep it all dry just in case.

We had 42 in attendance.  13 young bucks.  5 new Buckskin Members.  Ole Timers:  Cory Harris,  - Wagon Wheel Young Bucks; Taylor Fifield - Four Legs, Logan Fortner - Barbed Wire, Keanan Holbert - Monkey Hands and Ben Evarts - Swamp Pup.

This year the ole timers gave from their hearts and picked up a 25 dollar event fee so the young bucks could come at only 10 dollars each.   Our event patches are on order.  Our Buckskin patches are on order.  Will get them to you as soon as we see face to face again.

Our Business meeting was conducted by our Chapter President Ralph Davis, Tall Oak on Saturday morning and it was discussed and voted on by the FCF Membership to take the Mission Offering that was collected at this event of $2922.00 and give half to Jeremy Hembree a missionary to RRI in the amount of $1461.00 and the other half went to Camp Millhouser Campground projects.

Ralph Davis and Paul Serb (Kansas Chapter President) conducted the Buckskin testing with our 5 candidates.  I had 3 of these young men in there.  From my shoes I had invested 4 years in these young men working with them weekly in Royal Rangers.  With help getting them to over 30 outings.  Helping to develop their skills experience and advancement levels.  With the help of Friends of Rangers even getting these young men lined up to get their Saber next year and keeping them focused as scout material.  It's been a blessing to me as well as a lot of work and with God's help financing.  I say this not to toot my own horn but to recognize that these young men are developed by the many hands and feet that help them along the way.  You have had a part in this and many boys lives doing these very same things countless of times.  I praise God for you!  Each of doing what God has called us to do is true discipleship in practice.

Doug Laut - Hoot and Craig Kelley - Road Kill from the NW Division partnered up to keep the competitions going with all those that were competing doing the same event at one time together.  Lot's of Chapter Spirit as they went from Hawks, Knives, Flint and Steel and Horn Blowing and Max Towler - Plant Hunter put on a great Nature Study event as well.

We had a great time!  Click on a picture for a larger view.  Special thanks to Dan Rockafellow - Tall Timber for sharing these pictures with us. Zip File of all these pictures.
