2019 Buffalo River Float  April 27th, 2019.  Temps 72 no rain water level was high at with lots of folks floating.  1000 there!  Our group of 8 with 2 young men was a nice sized group easy to keep track of.  Click on a picture for a larger view.  We left my house at 7:30 am but with road construction and delays we would have been better to leave at 7:00 am.  The campground  was full to capacity.  Also no more parking at the take out point.  So if you want to park your vehicle at Kyles Landing you will need to get there before 10 am.   River was full of rubber rafts as the day before it was experienced kayaks and canoes only.  Saturday they opened it up to ALL.   Our group had a Father and Son that had only done some Canoe floating.  So this was a new experience for them.  With some good "Ranger Experience Sharing" and setting them up for success they both did a great job of enjoying this float.  The first 30 minutes we held tight and kept our eyes on the greenhorns.   2 in our party flipped their kayaks and with the water levels flowing fast it took extra help to get them and their stuff back in the boat.  We pulled out of the water about 6:00 pm and ate supper at Alpina, ARK.  Great trip.  Got home just before dark.  Sunday before church washed off 4 Kayaks and gear and hung to dry and washed the truck.  After Church did a Rocket Launch with our outpost!  Ranger Ministry is Wonderful!
