NW Division FCF Spring Outing May 17th, 2009
Everything started out great till around 6:30 it started to rain. And did it rain. Luckily we had a shelter housed to get out of the weather. So much for a roaring fire to keep we nice and toasty. We have our devotions under the shelter house. President Fred Lipowicz did a great job as he worked on removing bark from some slab wood that will later be used in their Ranger room at church. He compared it to God removing the bad things in our lives, sometimes it leaves scars but in the end we have a much better relationship with him. After some banana pudding , we started our black powder course. We hit the sack around 12:00 am. And listened to the rain till around; 3:00 am.
Got up Saturday around 6:00 am and had a great breakfast of eggs, pancakes and sausage. Bix did a great job on the meals. Our asst. Scout Jonathon Huff gave us our morning devotion along with some music from Dave Perkins. Lest I forget to mention The Huff boys had the banjos and bass guitar going Fri. night thanks guys for the help.We continued the black powder course sat. and got our guys trained by 4:00 Rest of the FCF guys did some competition and visiting with others. Bix fixed up some Hamburgers and baked beans along with salad and cookies for desert for lunch.Over all we had a great time .Sat was sunny and bright and we took down dry ;canvas. Always our goal. Thanks to all who came and spent the weekend with us. We had around 35 in attendance faithfully ; submitted by
